Cooked Dumplings

Have you heard of a belief that in China there used to be so many different dishes that even if every meal in a year would be different they would suffice throughout the year? Believe it or not, try preparing cooked dumplings.

Preparation

  1. From flour and water make a harder dough. Divide it into 3 to 4 smaller pieces and let them stand covered for about 10 minutes.
  2. Slice the fresh cabbage into thin strips, put it into boiling water, cook for a minute, and then drain.
  3. Mix the minced meat with prepared cabbage, ginger, Vegeta, soy sauce and chopped spring onions. Mix well the prepared mixture.
  4. Every piece of dough form into a roll, and then cut it into smaller pieces. Every small piece of dough roll thin with a rolling-pin over a floured board into a small circle.
  5. On each piece of dough place a teaspoon of prepared stuffing, and coat the edges with battered egg and bring together to form a small bag.
  6. Prepared dumpling put in the boiling water and cook for 15 – 20 minutes.

Advice

Prepared raw dumplings you can fry in a pan for 3 – 4 minutes on little oil and then cover with 300 ml of bouillon and continue cooking for another 10 – 15 minutes.

Serving

Drained dumplings serve with soy sauce.
